They are physically located at Towne Center and have a super inviting & well decorated space for their public & private events. They'll also come to your house to host a private event if you wish. If you've ever wanted to better understand the science behind craft cocktails and to try your hand at making craft cocktails - you need to go to

Lunch at Chow Yum - 70808, January 2026!
Had a great lunch at Chow Yum earlier this week! Chow Yum is a popular, but underrated restaurant located in the Overpass area of Mid-City Baton Rouge in 70808. It's tucked away just off of Perkins Rd and I forget it's there - which is a mistake as the food is just tremendous. All the dishes are hand crafted and they have a very flavorful menu - with an item or 2 for everyone's taste. Lunch service was packed by the time we were finished up and it was a random Wednesday tha

Every calendar year, the Louisiana Real Estate Commission requires all licensed agents/brokers to complete 12 hours of continuing education. One 4 hour class is mandatory for all licensees in the State of Louisiana and the remaining hours are elective courses that individual agents choose. I completed my first 3 hour course earlier today and it was all about our mandatory purchase agreement and the changes that have been made for 2026. About every two years (sometimes every

It was a strong December for running as the weather really cooperated. I ended December 2025 with 92 miles which brought my year-end total miles to 1,018! After a kinda slow start to the year, I caught up and finished the year at my goal of 1,000 miles. Back for another fantastic meal at Doe's Eat Place - 70806, December 2025!
Finished up another lunch with my Dad at Doe's Eat Place - it was so good 3 weeks ago, that we had to go back! Doe's is a long-time Baton Rouge restaurant located on Government Blvd in Mid-City. We started with a 1/2 order of tamales. Doe's has been serving their famous tamales since 1941 and man were they great. They really reminded me of what I grew up eating in Texas. All beef tamales with a spicy, deep flavored chili for a topping. My Dad got the fried shrimp po'boy

Thanksgiving Lunch with my Dad - 70809, November 2025!
We had a super Thanksgiving lunch with friends on Thursday and we didn't have to cook anything! My friend's son is finishing up his first semester of Law School in New Orleans so he came home for Thanksgiving and his parents put out an amazing spread - all home cooked! We had turkey, dressing & giblet gravy, sweet potato and mashed potato casserole, fresh cut green beans and a corn souffle. Dessert were a spread of pies from local bakeries. I brought Kim Crawford Prosecco a

November 2025 End of Month Running Update
I've finished up the month of November 2025 with 84 miles and 918 total miles for the year! Still on track to hit 1,000 miles for the year - need to run 82 miles in December. Slow start to the month with my allergies really acting up and slow finish to the month with the holidays and some not-so-great running weather. Hopefully December weather will hold up as I need to run 21 days for the month. I've completed my race registrations for the 3 races I'm running in in 2026:

Lunch with my Father at Doe's Eat Place - 70806, November 2025!
Finished up lunch with my Dad at Doe's Eat Place - first time there and guaranteed will NOT be my last! Doe's is a long-time Baton Rouge restaurant located on Government Blvd in Mid-City. They are known for their steaks and just general fantastic food. We started with Brussel Sprouts which were roasted to perfection. Just a touch of heat, but plenty of texture from the roasting. My father and I both ended up getting the Chicken Fried Steak. Being born and raised in Texa

2025 Real Estate Continuing Education Complete!
The Louisiana Real Estate Commission requires all licensed agents in the state to complete 12 hours of continuing education every year as a condition of renewing their real estate licenses. These CE classes can be in person classes or on-line. In addition, there is a 4 hour mandatory course that ALL agents in Louisiana must take and pass, with the remaining hours subject to whatever other courses we'd like to take. I nearly always opt for the in-person classes. I like to b

St Joseph's Academy Soiree - October 2025, Baton Rouge 70808
St Joseph's Academy is one of the finest private schools in all of Baton Rouge. It is an all-girl Catholic School located in Mid-City Baton Rouge 70808. I recently had the pleasure of attending their premier annual fundraising event - the Soiree. It is a night of fun, dancing, live and silent auction bidding and great food and drink. This year set a record for funds raised at the Soiree - funds that are used to help fund the academic excellence at SJA. SJA has won numero
