The Louisiana Marathon Weekend is a Saturday/Sunday filled with races in and around Baton Rouge!. The primary Saturday races are the 5K & Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles) race. Start/finish is in downtown Baton Rouge at 4th Street & Spanish Town Rd. The race route departs downtown over the North Blvd overpass. From there, the route heads down 19th/Park to Perkins and then down Kleinert Avenue. They wind us back through parts of the Garden District and then back to 19th/Park

It was a strong December for running as the weather really cooperated. I ended December 2025 with 92 miles which brought my year-end total miles to 1,018! After a kinda slow start to the year, I caught up and finished the year at my goal of 1,000 miles. I just purchased new HOKA running shoes in preparation for 2026 and the 3 races I'm registered to run in Q1! Finished up another lunch with my Dad at Doe's Eat Place - it was so good 3 weeks ago, that we had to go back! Doe's is a long-time Baton Rouge restaurant located on Government Blvd in Mid-City. We had a super Thanksgiving lunch with friends on Thursday and we didn't have to cook anything! My friend's son is finishing up his first semester of Law School in New Orleans so he came home for Thanksgiving and his parents put out an amazing spread - all home cooked!
