5th Continuing Education Class of 2026 - Baton Rouge Real Estate

I've officially completed my required continuing education courses for 2026 with this CE class on successions completed on Tuesday. Super informative class about the importance of keeping your estate planning up to date so as to make your wishes clearly known to your heirs after you pass. Lots and lots of stories about unintended consequences and complications for heirs because their parents(s) didn't manage their affairs in the later years of their lives.

This course was put on by Commerce Title and was taught by one of their real estate attorneys. It was an informative course and delivered in a great setting. It was a small class of about 15 other real estate agents and the instructor was very knowledgeable and skilled in delivering information.

I've certainly sat through classes where the instructor was not skilled and they were painful - not the case here! Commerce Title has historically been one of my most recommended closing companies. In addition to doing such a great and competent job in handling the actual closings, they provide these other ancillary, but very important supporting services to real estate agents.

I've now completed 13 of the required 12 hours that are due by the end of this year. I'm already signed up for 4 additional CE hours with Commerce Title over the next couple of months. The courses look interesting and valuable and you can never really have too much continuing education!
