Lunch at Mestizos - 70808, February 2026!
Very special lunch today with my Dad as today would have been my parent's 61's wedding anniversary. We celebrated at Mestizos which was one of my mother's favorite restaurants! Pictured above is the queso with ground beef appetizer.
This is my father's favorite lunch dish - the grilled redfish with rice and seasoned vegetables. My mother was a taco girl and she'd nearly always get some sort of a taco for lunch here.
This is my go-to lunch dish! I order the a la carte beef and bean burrito with a side of rice and beans. It's a huge dish which I always eat 1/2 in the restaurant and bring home 1/2 for lunch the next day.
It was a great lunch - my Dad and I sure miss my mother, but we had a great time celebrating their anniversary with our good friends at Mestizos. This is literally one of the very best restaurants in all of Baton Rouge!
