The Louisiana Marathon Weekend is a Saturday/Sunday filled with races in and around Baton Rouge!. The primary Saturday races are the 5K & Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles) race. Start/finish is in downtown Baton Rouge at 4th Street & Spanish Town Rd.

The race route departs downtown over the North Blvd overpass. From there, the route heads down 19th/Park to Perkins and then down Kleinert Avenue. They wind us back through parts of the Garden District and then back to 19th/Park/Perkins to go back over the North Blvd overpass to the finish line.

Both races sold out for the first time this year with a 1,000 runner cap on the Quarter Marathon and a 2,200 runner cap for the 5K. It was a crisp, cool morning and perfect for a run.

I ended up finishing 1st in my age bracket for the first time ever! My Quarter Marathon time was 53:25. I finished 59th overall out of around 760 and was the 46th male finisher!

Super fun race and the countdown begins for my next race on 1/31/26 - the Mardi Gras Mambo 10K!

I've completed my race registrations for the 3 races I'm running in in 2026:
Louisiana Marathon Quarter Marathon
Mardi Gras Mambo 10K
OLOL Tiger Stadium 10K
