I ran in the Tiger 10K and ended up running a personal best time! It was a great race and the weather really cooperated.

The race began right outside Tiger Stadium on S Stadium Dr. We ran through campus down to Stanford Ave and then in/around the Lakes. We finished up the run back in campus and the finish line was ON the 50 yard line of Tiger Stadium! It was amazing to be running on the field and see what the stadium looks like from ground level.

There were almost 5,000 runners registered for this race which was a record which included a little over 2,000 runners specifically running the 10K. I ended up running a 49:33 which I was totally pleased with. My goal was to run under 50:00, so mission accomplished!
With so many runners running, I never even thought to check to see what my placement was in my age bracket until I got home. Imagine my surprise when I looked and saw that I finished 2nd in my age group and 233rd overall! Totally stoked about those results and I go to pick up my special medalist medal on Friday:)
2 more races coming up in the next few months:
They are all great races - so much fun to run and with great post-race parties/events. Come join me!
