2025 Real Estate Continuing Education Complete!

The Louisiana Real Estate Commission requires all licensed agents in the state to complete 12 hours of continuing education every year as a condition of renewing their real estate licenses. These CE classes can be in person classes or on-line. In addition, there is a 4 hour mandatory course that ALL agents in Louisiana must take and pass, with the remaining hours subject to whatever other courses we'd like to take.

I nearly always opt for the in-person classes. I like to be able to interact with the course instructors as well as with fellow agents. The Greater Baton Rouge Board of Realtors offer free CE classes throughout the year at our headquarters on Perkins Rd. Mortgage Lenders and title companies have now begun offering CE classes as well.

I've really been enjoying some of the unique, 2 hour classes the title companies have been offering which are typically taught by their in-house real estate attorneys. I find they provide some really fascinating, real-life insight into issues and experiences that they deal with on a regular basis in getting a deal closed.

I ended up the year with 19 hours of CE completed this year as there were several really interesting courses offered by mortgage lenders and title companies that I took advantage of.

The Louisiana Real Estate Commission offers an online record for all agents and brokers licensed in Louisiana so you can check their license status and their continuing education history. You should always get a prospective agent on the LREC website to make sure their license status and CE history is up to date and current.
