Southern Energy Renewables to Spend $1.4B to Build a Plant in St Charles Parish - Will Support Housing Growth in Ascension Parish
Big economic win for St Charles Parish has just been announced and it will support continued growth in the Ascension Parish housing market!
Southern Energy Renewables has announced plans to invest $1.4 Billion to develop a green methanol and sustainable aviation fuel facility starting in 2027 with an estimated completion date of 2029.
This plant is the first investment in Louisiana by SER and is planned to create 120 direct, high paying permanent jobs and 394 indirect jobs. St Charles Parish is located proximate to Ascension Parish and I'd expect a fair number of these new workers to reside in Eastern Ascension Parish possibly in Sorrento, St Amant, Gonzales and even Prairieville!
