Shintech Louisiana to Spend $3.4 Billion to Expand Their Presence in Iberville Parish, LA!

Shintech has just re-affirmed how important the Greater Baton Rouge area is to them by announcing a $3.4 Billion (yes Billion with a B!) expansion to their existing facility in Iberville Parish.

Plans call for the company to build a second ethylene unit and a fourth chlor-alkali and vinyl chloride monomer unit. This will be a multi-phased expansion with the initial construction phase to be complete by 2030.

This expansion will create 162 new jobs with an average salary at a whopping $117,000! This project will also help to retain 725 existing jobs at the facility.

This type of job growth, particularly at those salary levels will continue to drive housing growth in Iberville Parish and also West Baton Rouge Parish as well. Cities such as Plaquemine, Addis, Port Allen & Brusly will be positively affected by this influx of new, highly compensated employees and their families!
