October 2023 real estate sales numbers for the Greater Baton Rouge Area are in. A total of 714 properties were listed and sold in the Greater Baton Rouge Association of Realtors MLS valued at a touch over $234,000,000!

Sales decreased in October from September due to some normal seasonality slowdown and continued elevated interest rates. Constrained inventory in our local market continues to hamper home sales, there's still a ton of home buying and selling occurring!

You can see continued differences in our real estate market in October 2023 vs October 2022. There were 179 fewer properties sold this October vs last October! Our days on market prior to selling this October is 55 days vs 46 days in October 2022. Buyers and Sellers are still closing sales, it is just taking a bit longer than it has in the past.
