Greater Baton Rouge Home Sales Statistics - March 2026

March 2026 residential home sales statistics for the Greater Baton Rouge Area are in and the month AND year to date numbers are all positive! Our real estate market tends not to operate at the extremes (both good and bad) that you can see in many of the other real estate markets around the country.
We tend to be pretty steady as you go, but with positive trends in both increasing median sales prices and number of homes sold.
March 2026 vs 2025 stats show:
817 vs 729 homes sold
1,179 vs 1,113 new listings
$267,000 vs $255,00 median sales price
82 vs 76 days on market prior to the final sale
4.2 vs 4.2 months supply of inventory
We are still showing a pretty substantial increase in median sales price measuring both the month of March, but also (and more importantly) YTD 2026 vs YTD 2025. This is showing measurable and sustained growth in the median sales price which is a very strong sign of a healthy real estate market. We are showing around 4.2 months of inventory on the market which is healthy and our days on market is around 82 days. That number is possibly a bit higher than we'd like, but all of the other numbers look healthy however.
It remains a good time to buy and/or sell a home in the Baton Rouge area. There are deals to be had and sellers are becoming more and more responsive to contributing seller concessions as part of an offer.
