Greater Baton Rouge Home Sales Statistics - January 2026
January 2026 Home Sales Statistics for the Greater Baton Rouge area are in and at the chart below:

January 2026 residential homes sales in the Greater Baton Rouge area have started off in a pretty strong manner!
While the number of sold and closed homes was down slightly this January vs January 2025, the number of new listings was up and the median sold price increased January vs January.
January 2026 vs 2025 stats show:
541 vs 513 homes sold
1.047 vs 942 new listings
$265,000 vs $263,025 median sales price
88 vs 78 days on market prior to the final sale
4.2 vs 4.3 months supply of inventory
Our market continues to chug and plug along. Unlike many coastal and big-city markets, we tend not to see big swings in closings, sales price appreciation, or market crashes. Like they say, slow and steady wins the race and that really does tend to explain our market.
It remains a good time to buy and/or sell a home in the Baton Rouge area. There are deals to be had and sellers are becoming more and more responsive to contributing seller concessions as part of an offer.
