CF Industries, JERA and Mitsui Announce $4 Billion Investment for the World’s Largest Ammonia Facility - Ascension Parish 70346, September 2025!

More fantastic economic news for the Greater Baton Rouge Area and Donadlsonville/Ascension Parish as final approval is given for another multi-billiion dollar investment in the RiverPlex MegaPark!
The facility is expected to export approximately 1.4 million metric tons of low-carbon ammonia annually to international markets and will be the world's largest plant of its kind. This new production facility will be located in close proximity to the just announced Hyundai Steel $6 Billion new manufacturing facility. These two projects alone will account for a $10 BILLION economic investment in the Greater Baton Rouge Area!
It is estimated that this facility will create roughly 103 new jobs with an average annual salary of $110,000. In addition, it is estimated that this project will create an additional 311 indirect jobs - bringing the total job creation count for this project to around 414.
This project, in conjunction with the Hyundai Steel project will have a massive impact on the housing market in the Greater Baton Rouge Region. Ascension Parish - on both sides of the Mississippi River will experience the greatest housing benefit as plant workers will look to locate in relative close proximity to their jobs. However, we will see spillover positive housing effects in Baton Rouge proper, southern Livingston Parish and all of Iberville Parish.
