Afton Oaks Subdivision is a centrally located, popular subdivision located right off of Sherwood Forest in 70816! There is another Afton Oaks Subdivision located in Zachary that is new construction, attached townhomes. This post is about the Baton Rouge subdivision:)
Afton Oaks Subdivision consists of larger homes, on nicely sized lots and most of the homes were built in the early 1990's. I'm a big fan of the subdivision as you have a couple of ways in and out to allow for better accessibility. Sherwood Forest is never very fun in the afternoons, but this subdivision has a signalized intersection to allow you to enter and exit from Sherwood Forest in a reasonable manner. You also have the option of winding around to Woodland Ridge to access S Harrell's Ferry Rd which is typically much less trafficked!
The homes in Afton Oaks tend to range from 2,200 - 3,000+ living square feet and the values tend to sit in the $400,000 - $450,000 range. When blending location and size of home & lots, I think there's a ton of value here.
